Leave in hair oils are really great for keeping our locks conditioned and healthy, as well as keeping away split ends and breakages caused by brittle hair. When we have problems with dry hair, which are often exacerbated in winter time, we’re met with a ton of different commercial products that claim to combat the problem. But these products often contain a variety of not so nice ingredients, when we could easily make something for ourselves in about 2 minutes from more natural, non toxic ingredients.

The ingredients in this hair oil mix can be found at your local supermarket or health shop (for certain oils), and together work to moisturise, condition, protect and repair hair. As well as keeping hair looking lovely, the additions of lavender and chamomile both soothe the scalp, whilst lavender oil can also encourage hair growth, making these a perfect little on-the-go gift for someone looking to pamper themselves.

To make this gift look nice, all you need to do is find a nice container for it to go in! I snagged my glass one second hand, I cleaned it thoroughly and sterilised it before decanting my mixture.

This one is so so easy to make, just combine ingredients in your container, give it a little shake to mix well and you’re done!

Ingredients:

  • 4 tsp jojoba oil
  • 2 tsp avocado oil
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sweet almond oil
  • 5 drops lavender oil
  • 5 drops chamomile oil

For use, pour a little of the mixture into the hand and run it through the hair, especially on the ends. I tend to put this in overnight the day before I’m going to wash my hair. It’s perfect to have round the house, but also makes a great little stocking stuffer.

Until tomorrow, stay magic y’all.
