This body scrub is a classic of mine. I gave out a whole ton of body scrubs for Christmas last year and I’m happy to say they went down a treat. Making your own scrub literally takes 5 minutes with ingredients you can get in any supermarket, but stills looks so sophisticated and like you’ve put the time and effort in to create something useful and beautiful for someone. It’s a much more natural and non-toxic choice than commercial products full of nasties, and works well to exfoliate as a scrub and nourish because of the oil base. Additionally cinnamon, whilst being mega Christmassy, is also a brilliant spice to use. It’s anti-inflammatory, anti-ageing, antibacterial, improves blood flow to the skins surface and can help fight acne and scars. So many lovely skin benefits!
So here’s my super simple recipe:
Ingredients
– 1/2 cup Coconut oil
– 1 cup Sugar
– 2 Tablespoon Cinnamon
Instructions
– Melt the coconut oil in a bain marie until soft but not fully melted. Take off the heat and stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix well, adding more sugar for firmer consistency if desired.
– Transfer into a sterilised jar and decorate however you please!
See guys! So simple and cheap, but with great results. If you want to give something handmade and bath time fitting, look no further than this simple scrub.
Until next time, stay magic y’all.
